This is the most popular Gulf Beach destination for campers, swimmers, fisherman, and body surfers in the immediate area. That being said, it has no facilities, and its remoteness keeps it mostly deserted outside the summer months. This is an ideal spot for beginners in the lagoon side. There is not a lot of room to sail in the lagoon, unless the wind is directly out of the East by Southeast where a nice reach can be made straight up and down the lagoon, but that is why it is ideal for beginners. If they get into any trouble they should be able to get back easily. On the gulf side (a short walk across the island) there is potential for wave sailing for advanced sailors only. North winds will produce the best waves and allow you to get 'outside' easiest. Wave sailing with a buddy is highly recommended. This is a fun place to camp. There is no shade or fresh water, so bring provisions!
