Lace rock surf break, also known as Midigama far right, breaks if Lazy left gets about 4-5 feet swell. Lace rock is located about 50m to the right from Lazy left. The paddle out is easy through around the Lace rock break but it’s bit far from the shore. The first line up itself is about 50m from off shore. Lace rock could be an ideal break for intermediate surfers since they can get around to the line up, without having to duck for waves often. Lace rock also can be really good mid morning times and it’s advisable to surf with a partner always if you’re not experienced enough . There can be occasional currents around. Also there is a river mouth close by to the Lace rock point. This can make the water dirty at times especially after a heavy rain, so you may need to plug in your earplugs. From the lineup you can get a nice view of Goviyapana islet (Lace rock) which is located to the right. On the right side of the islet, you can also find a nicely peeling waves, ideal for a long board. Right in front of the islet, you can see a lot of stilt fishermen going about their daily business.
