When it's the only place working it does get crowded, but there are loads of peaks up and down the beach so you can always get a wave just for yourself and your buddies. Arenile esteso per più di mezzo chilometro e chiuso a Sud da uno spuntone di roccia a picco sul mare (Pedra d'Agulha). Al di fuori del periodo balneare è molto cercata dai surfisti per via delle onde e del vento molto forte.

Arrifana is very popular in the Portuguese surfing community. When the waves are good it is always crowded because of the many Surf Schools and beginners, so it is very important to respect priorities in the water. A crescent-shaped beach protected by a large cliff. This is probably the best known wave of Aljezur. It gets a big swell and is sheltered from all winds except the west wind. When the sea is big the “Arrifana right-hander” is a classic, suited for experienced surfers. At high tide the wave is softer and at low tide, drier and faster. L’Algarve è la regione estrema meridionale del Portogallo, protesa verso l’oceano Atlantico e l’Africa. Il clima dell’Algarve è di tipo tipicamente mediterraneo, caratterizzato da una temperatura mite in ogni periodo dell’anno, da scarse precipitazioni generalmente concentrate tra novembre e marzo e da un’alta insolazione.

La temperatura media varia tra i 12ºC in inverno (gennaio) e i 30ºC in estate (agosto). In estate le temperature medie massime variano tra i 25°C e i 29°C, mentre in inverno variano tra i 16°C e i 18°C; le temperature medie minime invernali sono di 8°C, mentre le temperature medie minime estive variano tra i 15°C e i 18°C.
